Everyone is aching to draw a line under 2020 in whatever way they can. Although we here at Fox Hollow are still in full hibernation mode, I can think of no better way of looking forward than by exploring Colours of the Year.
Colours of the Year provide us with a great idea of the overall way that schemes and trends are moving and how we will see that reflected in our own homes eventually, even in the subtle ways these colours will come in to homewares products. It becomes so much more than the individual colours, and more about the palettes and tonal ranges that compliment them.
Pantone

Pantone have treated us to two choices for 2021, Ultimate Gray, a dependable, solid grey and Illuminating, a sunshiny, optimistic yellow. Together they combine to reflect the year past and to look forward with the hope that 2021 brings.
Crown
Crown have opted for a range of palettes for 2021, which is great for those who prefer to see an overview of how colours compliment each other. One of their key pairings for 2021 are blue and mustard. Blues have long been a favourite in our homes and combined with mustard, they create a joyous palette that works well with warm woods.

Dulux
Dulux have introduced Brave Ground as their colour of the year 2021, a warm, natural neutral, that is a great backdrop to let other colours in your scheme shine. It’s earthy tone is comforting, and overall who doesn’t want to be enveloped in a secure and warm colour after the year we have had!

Tikkurila
Opting for a calming, light blue in the form of Cumulus, Tikkurila explains that it represents our hope for the future. This light and playful blue reminds us to keep going. Blue skies are ahead.

I had thought grey may be over 🙂
I know Sinead! Who knew eh? Maybe with the brighter pops of colour it is a more contemporary look!
