  • It's a picnic in the camper kinda evening! I love the idea of eating outdoors but currently there is a gale blowing around the van and the occasional squall. So it's time to don my fluffy socks and get the scrabble out. I really am middle aged now. Thank you so much for all the messages and shares and votes for the @amaraibas.   • I've just been on stories to talk about very big news, I've been nominated for the @amaraibas. I've been nominated in the 'Best Use of Instagram' International category. There is just one other Irish account in the category, that's Noreen of @ourhomeobsession. I'm chuffed to bits. If you like what I do interiors-wise on Instagram, be it gold stripes, pink fridges, painted ceilings, stories, replies to DMs etc, I've popped the link to the vote page in my bio.   • I felt the need for a change in the living room, but loved my blue walls too much to change them. So that's how I've arrived at painting the ceiling in Bloomsbury by @mylands_london paint from @carlowpainthub. We used @twofussyblokes rollers from @butleranddunne and fitted a new @madedotcom lampshade to complete the look.   • I spend 80% of my time in my study looking. Looking at Instagram, looking out the window, looking for things. Basically not working. I picked up the three baskets in the middle in @sostrenegrene on Monday, to sort out pens, pencils etc. It's supposed to increase my productivity 🙄let's see how that works out!   • I've given up on wooden outdoor seating. I am too lazy to mind it properly, and I don't cover it in the winter (because I sit outside year round). I treated myself to two new chairs from @homesquarecork. Aren't they sweet? They are stackable, they are comfortable and they come in a range of colours.   • You lovely lot are something else, I've had so many messages about my weekend project, the gold stripes. I'm sure I witter far too much on stories, but either way you get the point. So now it's over to the rest of you, I'm dying to see your stripes too! The paint was the Tikkurila Taika Gold paint from @carlowpainthub. The 225ml tin is €16 and I had more than enough for the whole hall. The tape I used was the @axusdecor purple tape. One roll has 40 metres in it. So I have enough left over for the next project, coming up later this week.   • Our living room is small and north facing, and all four corners are dark and moody. Lighting is hard to get right, but movable lamps are the business, and this floor lamp by @eames_lighting has style in abundance!   • If you are ever going to do one thing in your garden/balcony/windowsill, grow a herb garden. No matter what size your plot is, you will always have a yield. It's impossible to get it wrong. Go for indestructible plants like rosemary, bay, thyme etc if you are a lazy gardener like me. Grow mint if you like mojhitos. Grow camomile if you like tea (and pretty daisy-like flowers). Grow sage if you want to pick fresh herbs on Christmas eve to stuff your turkey. Even if you never want to harvest a single thing from your herb garden you can just let it grow! Things will flower, bees will love it. Are you convinced yet?
